Cowboyapuss

For grown-ups

You are handing a screen to someone small. Here is exactly what is on the other side of it.

Who makes this

Cowboyapuss is an independent project made by a very small team. Not a network, not a toy company, and not paid for by advertising. Some of the stories retell a fable that has been told to children for two thousand years (the boy who cried wolf, the tortoise and the hare), moved to an underwater frontier town called Rodeo Reef. Others are invented here and have no fable behind them at all. Either way a story is written for ages three to six, and leaves your child with something worth keeping.

The promises

A person reads every story before your child can

Nothing reaches the site automatically. Every story, and every picture, is read and approved by a human being first. There is no path in our system that lets a machine publish straight to a child. That gate is built into the software, not left to good intentions.

No advertising. None.

No banners, no sponsored stories, no product placement, no “brought to you by”. Your child’s attention is not for sale here.

No tracking, and no cookies

This site sets no cookies and loads nothing from anyone else: no analytics, no social buttons, no fonts fetched from a third party. We keep a plain daily tally of how often each story is served, and that is the whole of it. The privacy page explains it in full, including the one thing we cannot switch off: the standard request logs our hosting provider writes.

Nothing here sells to your child

There are no purchase prompts, no locked stories dangled to make a child ask, no coins, no gems, no “unlock more”. If we ever sell something (a printed book, say) it will be sold to you, in a grown-ups-only part of the site your child never navigates into.

We never ask for your child’s name, photo or voice

There are no accounts on this site at all today. If personalisation ever arrives, a family’s first names will be typed by a parent, stored on the device, and used to fill in the story as it is drawn on the screen: never sent to us, never sent to anyone else, and deleted whenever you say so.

The stories are written with AI assistance

We think you should hear that from us rather than guess. A person shapes each story, an AI helps draft and illustrate it, and a person reads every word and looks at every picture before it is published. The privacy page sets out how that works in more detail. We would rather say this plainly on the front page of the trust than have you find it out.

Getting in touch

A contact address lands here before the site is announced. Until then, note that nothing on this page asks anything of you: there is no form, no sign-up, and no list to join.
